Facebook Messenger updated for Windows 10 Mobile

Facebook Messenger for Windows 10 Mobile

Facebook updated the Messenger app today for Windows 10 Mobile with a new user interface and design. The new app is clearly a port of iOS app and the beta app was already available for selected users from Germany and France earlier which we had reported. The app is mostly the same as Messenger Beta app with several bug fixes and better performances. The video calling feature is still not introduced which we hope will come soon. Also, the voice calling feature is unavailable as of now.

The updated Messenger app is Universal Windows Platform app and is available for both Windows PC and Windows 10 Mobile.

The Windows Store lists the following feature for the updated Messenger App.

  • Get notifications so you never miss a message
  • See when you have messages waiting for you with a live tile
  • Send photos, videos, GIFs and more
  • Bring your conversations to life with stickers
  • Know when people have seen your messages
  • Create groups for the people you message most—name them and set group photos
  • Forward messages or photos to people who weren't in the conversation
  • Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them

However, if you update there isn't the lock screen quick status and app lags a bit.
