Facebook Messenger App for Windows 10 Mobile Updated - How to Install it

Facebook Messenger App

Windows 10 Mobile finally gets a native Facebook Messenger App. Although, the app is still in beta state and is only available to some selected beta testers/region, you can download and install it with a little tweak.

The updated Facebook Messenger looks and feels like the iOS app, since it's an iOS port much like the Instagram App and comes as a 70.01 mb download. Now with Facebook Messenger app, you can send photos, videos and now has support for GIFs, Facebook stickers. Also, there is a built in search for finding your friends and groups and creating group from the app itself is now easier.

Here's the feature that has been listed on the Microsoft Store for the updated Messenger Beta app.

  • Get notifications so you never miss a message
  • See when you have messages waiting for you with a live tile
  • Send photos, videos, GIFs and more
  • Bring your conversations to life with stickers
  • Know when people have seen your messages
  • Create groups for the people you message most—name them and set group photos
  • Forward messages or photos to people who weren't in the conversation
  • Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them

Although, it's a ported app, the Messenger Beta do not behaves and feels different from a Windows 10 Mobile app. And before you want to download it, let me remind you that it's an Beta app, and may come with lots of bug. You can wait for sometime before Facebook removed the Beta app and updated the full-fledged and working app in the store.

Facebook Messenger App

The App is currently available to download for Germany and France region but don't worry, you can still download and install it. If you want to update to the Messenger Beta app, Navigate to Settings > Time & Language > Region and change it to either France/Germany. This will ask for your phone restart. Once restarted, go to this LINK, which will end you up in Microsoft Store with a Free Button to download. Once downloaded, you can change back your region and still enjoy using the app.

Windows 10 Mobile, with a continuous shrinking market has now been reduced to less than 1% globally and the main reason has been the app gap. Seeing Facebook updating it's Messenger app now and the Instagram app earlier, the current Windows 10 Mobile lovers and users can take a relief.
