Microsoft launches Update Advisor App for Windows Phone

Though Microsoft has still not decided when to roll out Windows 10 Mobile to existing Windows Phone users, it has launched an app called UpdateAdvisor Beta  that analyzes your Windows Phone for Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. It will tell you whether your phone is eligible to Windows 10 Mobile and can even help you clean up space on your phone for the update when it is actually rolled out.

Opening the app will check if your phone can be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile or if an update is required before your can upgrade. The app will even recommend files, videos, and photos to move to your SD card in case there is not sufficient internal storage for the Windows 10 Mobile.

The app is listed in Windows Store but you won't find it by searching. You need to download a QR scanner and scan the below code to download the app.

Microsoft had earlier planned to update the existing Windows Phone 8.1 usrs in December 2015, but has delayed it until early this year. That's clearly a poor marketing from Microsoft and is adding up as a reason for its shrinking percentage in the smartphone world. Windows Fans like me are eagerly waiting for the Windows 10 Mobile to be officially rolled out, though I am using Windows 10 Mobile in Lumia 625 through Windows Insider program.
