Microsoft releases firmware update to support 4G in India

Microsoft released a firmware update to selected Lumia models - Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320, Lumia 1020, Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 830 and Lumia 625 that included a support for 4G network connectivity in India. 4G network is now available in India in some parts and its reach is expanding, as Carriers like Airtel and Vodafone are trying to have a hold on the consumers who can avail 4G data rates.

ped for this firmware update although, device like Lumia 625 with lower specification is getting the update. 

This firmware update, however will only enable handsets to support FDD-LTE (1800 MHz) network and do not support TDD-LTE (2300 MHz) due to hardware limitations. 

In case, you want to receive this firmware update, you will need to update your Windows Phone. 

To update your Windows Phone to this firmware update - Swipe left to App list > Settings > Phone Updates. 

Tap on Check for updates. Download and install it. Your phone will reboot and gears will appear for sometime till the firmware update is in progress. Once the update is done, Navigate to Settings > Mobile + SIM. In the Highest Speed Connection, you can find the 4G option.
